Conviction, Belief, and Values, The Triad of Success or Failure.

A firmly held belief or opinion.
An acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists and a trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
Values defined.
A person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life.

Think about this. Your firm belief or opinion is set and you are successful in life. Your belief system reinforces that conviction because your have heard, read or felt the belief that your are a success. And finally all your major values or what is most important in life are all congruent with your conviction and belief. WOW, you are a success. The cool point here is that you get to define what success means to you.

Now on the other hand let’s say that one or more of the triad is not congruent, one of them is contrary to the other two. Will your traid stand? Simple geometry says a triangle has three equilateral sides, if one falls you may have a tiny ramp but no true triangle.

The big challenge for each individual is to take stock in yourself and see where your triad may need some building up. I think it is massively helpful to have or be working on a set of values that allow you to be happy as you strengthen your beliefs and convictions. If a negative belief is holding you down own it, take charge of it and make a choice to no longer give it power in your life. As you work on your own set of personal values you will find the beliefs and convictions you need to triumph in your life.

The Mentors Books series helps you construct an individual set of values for your life. By learning from leaders you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You do have to put forth real effort and be prepared to feel frustrations and some level of healthy stress. Be bold!
